Since late January, a series of country-specific tariff announcements has expanded to near-global coverage, increasing material costs and disrupting production logistics across industries. In response to century-high tariffs and ongoing global trade uncertainty, businesses have had to adapt.
While many cleanroom consumables suppliers have already issued multiple price increases this year, Valutek has absorbed rising costs for several months due to proactive inventory planning and a strategic sourcing model.
However, with volatility in global trade continuing, Valutek will implement temporary surcharges across product lines beginning on June 1, 2025.
Why Now?
Valutek’s P-S-A (Primary, Secondary, Alternative) sourcing initiative and proactive inventory management allowed for several months of delayed price adjustments.
But, with the continued unpredictability surrounding tariffs and global supply chains, a temporary and strategic pricing adjustment is now necessary to maintain supply continuity and product reliability.
What’s Changing?
This is not a flat-rate increase. Instead, each product category has been independently evaluated based on:
- Country of origin of raw materials and finished goods
- Production and logistics costs
- Category-specific demand and volume
This targeted approach ensures surcharges are proportionate and reflect actual landed cost increases, while maintaining Valutek’s rigorous internal quality standards or product specifications.
Product Category | Surcharge |
---|---|
Adhesive Mats | 5% |
Pre-Saturated Wipers | 7% |
Gloves & Finger Cots | 9% |
Wipers | 10% |
Apparel & Glove Liners | 25% |
Mops, Swabs & Tape | None |
A Strategic Adjustment—Not Another “Blanket” Price Increase
This is a carefully considered move that reflects Valutek’s long-term commitment to supporting core customers with transparency.
Decades of international material sourcing and manufacturing has enabled Valutek to offer quality cleanroom consumables at competitive prices. However, when sudden policy shifts disrupt global trade, these complex supply chains cannot be restructured overnight.
By implementing temporary surcharges instead of altering base price lists, Valutek preserves pricing flexibility – allowing for quick response times as global trade conditions change. Surcharges are subject to increase, decrease or removal as circumstances evolve.
Here’s what you can expect:
- Temporary Surcharges: Base price lists remain unchanged, and surcharges are listed separately by line item.
- Transparent Pricing: Percentages by product line included on price lists, product quotes, sales orders and invoices.
- Advance Notice: A minimum of 30 days’ notice prior to any surcharge increases.
- Continuous Monitoring: Ongoing review of tariff policies and real-time inventory costs to make adjustments to surcharges as soon as conditions allow.
